I worked with Sue Hawkins over a number of weeks to try to manage the physical symptoms of anxiety. I had found that obsessive thoughts were creating or exacerbating chronic gut symptoms such as burning and reflux. I had become quite distressed about my condition. Sue’s technique of choice was focused concentration, also known as clinical medical hypnosis. Sue explains this as essentially the slowing down of a fast moving brain in order to focus attention on what needs attention. There is no hocus pocus about it and, for me, the results were truly impressive. My symptoms improved enormously, and with that improvement my anxiety improved. Sue works hard to create an absolute trust between herself and her client, and so I was utterly sure that no ethical boundaries would be crossed and that I would be safe at all times. She works with a calm methodical intuitive style that gently explores a client’s beliefs and values – and guarantees that they will never be endangered or violated. She is quietly persistent in always looking outside the square for answers. I felt acknowledged and respected – Sue treats a client like an intelligent adult, and acts as a kind of catalyst so that the client’s mind and body can begin to heal itself.

With diagnosed PTSD from workplace bullying over 3 years, Sue's patience, support, guidance and face to face counselling was invaluable. Without her professionalism the results would of been very different. I am now in a happier workplace and feel very resilient.
